What is the Modified Bavarian Formula?
The Modified Bavarian Formula is the standard method used by most German universities (like TUM, LMU, or RWTH Aachen) to convert international grades into the German 1.0 - 4.0 scale.
Grade = [ (Nmax - Nactual) / (Nmax - Nmin) ] * 3 + 1
Where Nmax is
the highest possible grade, Nmin is the
minimum passing grade, and Nactual is your
obtained GPA.
How to Interpret Your Result?
1.0 - 1.5: Excellent (Sehr Gut)
1.6 - 2.5: Good (Gut)
2.6 - 3.5: Satisfactory (Befriedigend)
3.6 - 4.0: Sufficient (Ausreichend)
